What’s In A Name?

White Dogwood Flowers

Over the last week, I’ve gotten a few compliments on the name Where The Dogwood Blooms. Thank you! I wish I could take credit for coming up with it, but that honor goes to Bug. And, y’all, she nailed it! I wanted a meaningful blog title representative of our home state. A name that brought to mind everything sweet and beautiful in North Carolina.

Unable to come up with a title on my own, I enlisted the fam’s help. We talked about longleaf pines, mountains, beaches, and state symbols. I drove everyone plumb crazy for weeks, trying to find THE name. When I was ready to just pick something out of a hat, Bug suggested Where The Dogwood Blooms. As soon as it fell out of her mouth, I knew it was the one.

It’s a play on Where the Red Fern Grows, a sacred place – touched by an angel.

Hey there! I’m Cassie Clark, a Carolina girl who grew up in two towns on opposite sides of North Carolina. My family has lived here for 8 generations, so my love for my home state is something I got honest. I’m passionate about sharing all the things that make North Carolina living so sweet – the history, the great outdoors, the culture, and the laidback lifestyle. That’s what Where the Dogwood Blooms is all about. It’s my love song to life in the Old North State; an ode to sunshine & hurricanes.
