9 NC Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

Confession: I’m new to the podcast bandwagon. I’d never so much as listened to one before I decided to create my own show

That decision put me squarely on team podcast.

Soon after, I started tuning into Rogan on long car rides and turning on my friends’ shows while I did chores. It became a habit.

Before I knew it, I had a playlist slap full of podcasts – and wouldn’t you know it, most of my favorites are from right here in North Carolina.

Big shocker, right? lol

Inspired by that playlist, I threw together a list of my favorite NC podcasts for you today. There’s a little bit of something for everyone. Y’all, enjoy!

9 NC Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

Country-Ish

Jon Reep is a standup comedian and actor from Hickory, North Carolina. He left Hollywood and returned to the Tar Heel state, where he started the Country-Ish podcast. Jon talks about everything from pop culture to small-town life.

If you’re looking to have a good laugh, you’ve got to give him a listen! Even his theme song cracks me up.

Away Message

Jeremy Markovich from Our State magazine hosts Away Message. In each season, Jeremy travels across the state, interviewing locals and discovering new places.

Away Message is perfect for those who want to learn more about NC’s history.

Arcane Carolinas

Charlie and Michael talk about the haints, boogers, and haunts found throughout the Carolinas on their podcast, Arcane Carolinas.

I’m obsessed with this one, y’all! If you appreciate a good ghost story, you will be, too.

Chats from the Blog Cabin

On Chats from the Blog Cabin, Melissa Vera and guests talk about a little bit of everything. She’s had bloggers, doctors, and even a cast member from Real Housewives on her show!

If you like variety, this podcast is for you.

Elicit Sports Authority

Interested in sports? Check out Elicit Sports Authority hosted by Buck and Ben! I’m not a big sports fan, but the hosts’s thick Southern accents make my heart smile. Even Brandon approves.

NC sports fans will fall in love with this show!

Her Heritage

This one is for the Christians! Michelle explores her traditional roots on the Her Heritage podcast. The show focuses on biblical values, history, tradition, and culture.

I was the first guest on this one! So, if you haven’t checked out the podcast yet, here’s your sign.

Southern Appalachian Herbs

Judson Carroll hosts Southern Appalachian Herbs. The podcast is all about foraging, wildcrafting, and herbalism in Western North Carolina.

I adore this show! Not only is Judson a phenomenal storyteller, but he gives great tips for living off the land!

Outsyde

Are you into real estate? How about land? Agriculture? Conservation? If you answered yes to any of these, you will love Outsyde! Wayne, Slade, and Aaron are all about teaching others the benefits of land investment.

If you want to learn how to make money and acquire land assets, this podcast is a great place to start!

Where the Dogwood Blooms

Obviously, I can’t waste this opportunity for shameless self-promotion! I host the Where the Dogwood Blooms podcast. Over there, my guests and I discuss life in North Carolina as we know it.

As long as you don’t mind a little colorful language, you’ll like the podcast as much as the blog! 😉

There you have it, y’all, 9 NC podcasts you should be listening to! What’s your favorite?
